Humidification Systems

Air naturally contains water vapour, it occurs in varying amounts and is dependent upon many factors, including temperature, altitude, time of year and inside, by your air conditioning or heating system. Relative Humidity is the amount of water vapour in the air at a particular temperature compared with the maximum amount that the air will hold at that temperature.

Dehumidifiers

When relative humidity is high, moisture will condense form the air onto any surface that has a lower dewpoint temperature, such as a window. This process of cooling and condensation dehumidifies the air.

Dehumidifiers work by removing unwanted moisture from the air, reducing the relative humidity and dewpoint temperature. They are suitable for situations where there is no additional temperature control problem. Where temperature control is a problem, close control air conditioning should be considered.

Humidifiers

If relative humidity is low, moisture is drawn from the surroundings, including paper, wool, cotton, tobacco, timber, furniture, plants, animals and people. Low humidity can result in a dry throat and mouth and causes irritation to the eyes and nose, it can also encourage static electricity.

This can have serious consequences for your stock or production process, it cause discomfort and poses a serious risk to the workforce. Low humidity is worsened by central heating systems and the dry winter air, leading to colds, flu, runny noses, drowsinees and headaches.
